I'm Sorry

I'm sorry I didn't sit a little longer.
I'm sorry I didn't listen more intently.
But I hope my love and care let you know how much I enjoyed having you there.

I'm sorry for the times I was short.
I'm sorry for the times I was worn.
But I wouldn't have had it any other way than caring for you each and every day.

It was hard to see you suffer.
It was hard to see you in despair.
Such a horrific disease, ALS can ultimately be.

I couldn't see then what I do now.
I couldn't understand why your suffering God would allow.
But I can see now how the hardest crosses we bear allow His glory to shine without compare.

I'll forever be grateful for the change your trial made in me.
I love you, Mama.
